How do I download an ebook from EBSCO?
Answer
Please note that you will only need to set this up once on your device. Subsequently, you will only follow steps 1 and 2 to download an ebook.
- From the ebook record in EBSCOhost Ebooks, click the “Download” button
- Click “Full eBook”
- At the bottom of the pop-up window, click the link to “Thorium Reader”
- Download the reader:
- If you are on a Windows computer, click “Windows Store” > then click “Download”
- If you are on a Mac computer, click the button to the right of the Mac logo
- Once the app has finished downloading, click on it (in your browser’s Downloads) to install the app
- Return to the EBSCO ebook download window (step 2 above)
- Choose your preferred loan period (“Borrow for”) and download format (EPUB/PDF), if applicable
- Beneath “Thorium Reader Passphrase,” click “Generate new passphrase”
- Click the “copy” button
- Now click “Download” at the bottom of the page
- Once the ebook has finished downloading, click on it (in your browser’s Downloads) to open it
- Paste your passphrase into the Thorium app when prompted
